Off-Campus Access--Username/Password?

The login username/password for MyLSCO is also your login for the library databases from off campus and the computers in all labs on campus. Follow these steps:

  1. On the LSC-O home page (www.lsco.edu), click "MyLSCO" on the lower right side of the screen or simply go to my.lsco.edu

  2. Under the login boxes, see "How do I get a user name and password?" Click CLICK HERE under that caption.

  3. Under Student Usernames, click MyLSCO Login ID.

  4. Login by using your campus ID number from the front of your campus ID. Social security numbers also work there. PIN is your birthdate as mmddyy, unless you have changed it. If your birthdate does not work, or if you cannot recall a PIN change, go to or call the admissions office (409) 882-3364. Click Process.

  5. Your username and password are shown under "Logon Credentials." Print your username and password (your original or "default" password) and save it in a safe place. Use the mouse to highlight and copy (right click the mouse, select copy) your default password.

  6. Your default password may be used for 90 days, but it is not intended to be used long term. You should create your own password, something easier to use and remember. Go ahead and change it now: Click Password Change Form

The following requirements for passwords are in effect. Decide on your new password. This type of password is known as a "strong" password.

  • Passwords are case sensitive and expire every 90 days.
  • Passwords cannot be repeated until 24 different passwords have been used.
  • Use 8 or more characters, that is, at least 8 letters, numbers or symbols.
  • Do not use any part of your name. Any other name, word or phrase is fine.
  • Use 3 out of 4 of these requirements:
    • at least one uppercase letter
    • at least one lowercase letter
    • at least one number
    • at least one of these symbols: ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - =  } { | [ ] \

For example: one upper case letter, the rest lower case, with a number or a symbol (Password1 or Password*)  To avoid having a case change, use all lower case letters, a number AND a lower case symbol (such as password1\)

7.   Password Change Form: In the first box type your username with lo\ ahead of your username (For example:  lo\jnsmith if you are John N. Smith)

8.   Paste (use Ctrl-V) your default password (copied in step 5) into the second box.

9.  Type your new password and retype your new password in the third and fourth boxes and click OK.

10.  The next screen should say "You have successfully changed your password." Write down your new password and save it in a safe place. If it says anything else, you can get help in the library, the learning center or the computer center. Common mistakes: forgetting the lo\, or not following one of the other password requirements. If you forget your new password, or let it expire, we can call and have it reset to the default password in order to redo this process.

Now, try logging into MyLSC-O. (The lo\ is not needed anywhere except in the password change form.) Since passwords expire every 90 days and must be changed before they expire, track your password expiration date on your MyLSC-O home page. Look for the channel box called "Password Expiration Notice" in the upper right side of the MyLSC-O home page. Click the Password Change Form link to change it before expiration.

If allowed to expire, passwords are reset back to the default password, which can only be done by the campus computer help desk. Contact the campus computer help desk by calling (409) 882-3033 or e-mail: helpdesk@lsco.edu. You can also visit the helpdesk in the AC building, Room 101.
