Orange Public Library Catalog -- LSC-O students and staff may borrow books from our local city library by presenting current LSC-O ID cards. The public library is located on 5th Street one block away from our campus. It is a good library for finding the classics and popular fiction or non-fiction books of general interest.
WorldCat -- Most academic libraries and larger public libraries in the world use WorldCat for creating their catalog records, thus creating a huge combined database of holdings for all the libraries that participate. We can search this catalog to see what books and other items are located in other libraries. If you find something in this database that you need, fill out an Interlibrary Loan Form, and we'll try to get it for you. This database is freely available on the Web.
Google Books -- Google is creating the world's largest collection of online books. Many of the world's largest libraries are cooperating in the effort. Anything not still under copyright might already be scanned in. When the book is still under copyright there may be table of contents page or some parts of books supplied by publishers to entice you to purchase their books. WorldCat (see above) is working with Google to make book holdings in libraries world-wide known to the general Web users. Click the link "Find this book in a library" to see who has a particular book in their library. Our holdings will show up. If we do not have it, we can request it for you through Interlibrary Loan.
