LSC-O Library - Borrowing and Returning Books

A student ID from any Lamar campus may be used to check out books and other library items from libraries on any Lamar campus.
LSC-O students may use the Orange Public Library and Orange Public Library patrons may use the LSC-O library. Orange Public Library patrons need to present current library cards at the check-out desk.
Students and other borrowers are responsible for all materials borrowed with their ID cards. Lost student ID cards should be reported to the library and the registrar.

Books and other library items may be returned to the book drop in the check-out desk at the library entrance.
If the library is closed use the book drop located outside on the 2nd Street parking lot side of the building.

The loan period is 21 days for circulating books and two days for videos and other media.
Renewals are permitted unless another individual has placed a hold on the item.
Book fines are 25c per day per item. Fines for reserve items, videos and other media are $1 per day per item. Special items may have special fine rates.
Library fines are official college debts and must be paid before additional library materials may be borrowed. Transcripts will be held and future registration processes blocked until all obligations have been fulfilled.
Pay all fines promptly at the cashier's office on the 3rd floor of the library building, and bring a copy of the receipt to the check-out desk of the library to have the debt officially removed by library staff.

Lost or Damaged Items

Fee for lost items will be replacement cost (imprint price or the price from Books-in-Print). If replacement cost cannot be determined, a flat fee of $40 will be charged.
A processing fee of $20 will be added to replacement cost.
Damaged items with a potential for in-house repairs will be billed $10 for labor to repair the item.
Items damaged beyond repair will be handled as a lost item.
Fee for lost or damaged protective material (such as book mylar covers, video cases or slipcovers) will be $5.
